The short version: the tools are free, and checking a record is free forever. You pay only to have your record witnessed by someone who cannot quietly rewrite it.
Free, and staying that way
Freethe software, and every check
Every library we publish is open source and costs nothing: the ledger that makes a record tamper-evident, the adapter that records at the seam, and the rest of the catalog. Install them, run them on your own machines, keep your own files.
Checking is free for everyone, forever, and that is structural rather than a promise. Verification uses a public record and an open-source checker, so nobody needs an account, a key, or our permission to test a claim. There is no code path from what you paid to how strong your verification is.
Also free: 100 witness pins a month, which is enough for most people to decide whether any of this is worth paying for.
What costs money
$9 / month
We record the fingerprint of your log with a third party you do not control, so that later on you can prove it was not quietly rewritten since a date you name. 2,000 pins a month.
SubscribeSame witness, same public record, paid for in blocks instead of monthly. Built this way on purpose: one payment buys a block of pins, so a card fee is not charged against every single one. Credits do not expire.
| Pack | Price | Pins | Each | |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Mini | $5 | 1,000 | $0.005 | Buy |
| Starter | $15 | 3,000 | $0.005 | Buy |
| Standard | $50 | 12,000 | $0.0042 | Buy |
| Bulk | $150 | 40,000 | $0.0038 | Buy |
How checkout works, and one limit to know. Credits are applied automatically: checkout hands you straight to a fulfilment step that mints your key and adds the pins, with a webhook behind it as a backstop for slower payment methods. Pins are rate-shaped above roughly 100 an hour today, so the Bulk pack is a price rather than a promise about speed.
The calculator
The honest answer depends on how much you use, so it is a calculation and not a headline. Tell it how many pins and renewals a day, and it computes the answer live from the same price ladder in offers.json that sets what you would actually be charged — it does not have a guess of its own baked in.
The part worth reading twice
You pay to be witnessed. You never pay to check. A free user, a paying user and a stranger who has never heard of us all get exactly the same verification, because verification never touches our systems. That means no future price change can quietly weaken it, since there is nothing to weaken.
Machine-readable catalog, and the single source of truth for everything we charge for: /.well-known/offers.json
