Arcaeon — licensing map (the open-core split, declared once)

Open (MIT): the client package on PyPI, arcaeon, and the older separate client packages it replaced (every name is listed at https://arcaeon.io/migrate). Each ships the MIT LICENSE file; copyright holder: the Arcaeon proprietor (sole proprietorship d/b/a Arcaeon). MIT grants use/modify/redistribute with attribution; it does NOT grant the Arcaeon name or trademarks.

Proprietary (all rights reserved): the hosted witness service server code (arcaeon-witness repo), the site (arcaeon.io content), internal orchestration/business tooling. Not licensed for redistribution.

The rule: clients open, service closed, name reserved. Anything new defaults to proprietary until deliberately opened.
